Sundborg MJ
Incredible well written blog about trains in the fifties, including perfect pictures of models.

This is a blog about my H0 (scale 1:87) model railway. The name of the blog is composed of the name of the layouts main station – the fictional provincial city of Sundborg – and the acronym MJ, which is an abbreviation for “ModelJernbane”, the Danish word for model railway.

The layout is presently under construction and it is my intention that the blog will follow the recreation of this small piece of Denmark in the mid 1950s. Furthermore, the blog will also contain articles about general model railway topics (controls, tracks, rolling stock etc.) as well as all the accessories (buildings, cars, people) that will add life to the layout.

The blog is mainly in Danish, however, English languages descriptions can be found on the subpages below: A general description of the idea behind my model railway project, some details on the layout itself, an ever expanding list of DSB roling stock of the period and finally some general background information about Denmark in the mid 1950s. Although Sundborg only exists as a model of a generic Danish provincial city in scale 1:87, I personally find it important for the credibility of the project that the surrounding environment portraits the historic setting closely.
